Pastor Andrew Tewell
Andrew grew up in a pastor's home, so the church was never a foreign concept to him. It was just life. In 2000 he moved to South Alabama to help his family plant a church in South Mobile County, and those years of serving in just about every role imaginable shaped him more than any classroom ever could. He has been in full-time vocational ministry since 2008 and went on to found Shore Light Baptist Church in Daphne in October 2021.
His heart for ministry is straightforward: preach the Word faithfully, love the people in front of him, and keep it real. He wants Shore Light to be a place where regular people feel welcomed and accepted, because that's exactly what it is.
Andrew and Jennie have been married since 2008. They first met as competitors, their schools facing off on the basketball court, before reconnecting in college and realizing they were better as teammates than rivals. Jennie also grew up in a pastor's home and came into this life with a genuine love for ministry and the local church. She brings a sharp entrepreneurial mind to everything she touches, having built and run several businesses of her own, and she leads women's ministry at Shore Light with that same energy. Together they have three daughters, Ashlyn, Caelyn, and Lauryn. When Andrew is not at the church, there is a good chance he is in the bleachers somewhere across Baldwin County cheering one of his girls on.
